Cahir Heritage Food Festival 2008

This festival takes place in the medieval castle in Cahir and has many exciting events to keep all who arrive fully entertained with a farmer’s market, a slow food banquet, a culinary antiques road show, a classic car picnic at the Swiss Cottage and there will also be some old fashioned storytelling as well. There is a public lecture on "The Social Archaeology of Meat Consumption in Early Medieval Ireland" as well for those interested in a little bit of Irish history....

This two day annual festival is an ideal opportunity to explore the Glen of Aherlow and many of the lakes, mountains, rivers, and forestry that form the unspoilt scenery of South Tipperary. There are walks of varying grades so you can either get stuck in with the strenuous climbs or take it easy and work your way up with a few gentler strolls. There are even some non-walking activities being held for those travelling with walkers but do no wish to go walking themselves....
